Asynchronous Testing support in AsUnit 3

October 6, 2006

We’ve been trying to write some unit tests in house for a Flex 2 project we’re working for a customer in New Jersey and It’s proven to be really difficult. The application is written using the Cairngorm micro-architecture and we were trying to write unit tests with FlexUnit to test each command. FlexUnit’s support for asynchronous methods is lacking. So we ending up going with an in house tool that Curtis Hermann developed. (I’ve been trying to get him to polish it up and release it to the community.) I know Paul BH over at Eyefodder was running into similar problems.

Here’s some more info on obtaining the latest release of AsUnit.

Flex Developer Certification Document

October 6, 2006

So before anyone gets upset with me for posting this… I’ve cleared it with Adobe first.

I was booking my MAX ticket the other day when I saw something about certification. It made me wonder enough to run a search on Google: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=lang_en&rls=GGGL%2CGGGL%3A2006-22%2CGGGL%3Aen&q=adobe+flex+exam&btnG=Search

The first result that came back was: Adobe Flex 2.0 Developer Certification Examination Specification

I clicked on it and noticed that the document said Adobe Confidential at the bottom… so after forwarding it some buddies… :p I forwarded it to Matt Chotin and asked him if he knew about it.. he said that Adobe was aware and that they left it up there because they thought the community would be excited that certification was coming.

It looks pretty well done guys!! Where do I sign up!!
